Edu Meet Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 3, 2026

Edu Meet is operated by Eduport ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what information the Edu Meet mobile app collects, how it's used, and who it's shared with. It applies to the Android and iOS Edu Meet apps.

Information we collect

Camera and microphone

Edu Meet requests camera and microphone access so you can appear on video and speak during live classes. This access is used only while you're actively in a class; audio and video are processed by the Zoom Meeting SDK to power the live session and are not recorded or stored by the Edu Meet app itself. If a class is recorded, that's a feature of the Zoom platform controlled by the hosting teacher or institution, not by Edu Meet.

Bluetooth

Used only to route audio to connected accessories (e.g. Bluetooth headphones) during a class. We don't collect any data through this permission.

Class and meeting information

The app displays live class schedules (class name, time, meeting ID) sourced from our backend. When you join a class, a generic display name is sent to the Zoom Meeting SDK to label your presence inside the meeting; Edu Meet does not ask for or store personal profile information.

Diagnostic and technical data

We don't currently use any analytics or crash-reporting service in the app. Standard technical data (like IP address and device type) is visible to our hosting and network infrastructure as with any internet service, and to Zoom while a meeting is active, subject to their own privacy practices.

Third-party services

Edu Meet uses the following third-party services to provide its features:

  • Zoom Meeting SDK — powers live video classes. See Zoom's privacy policy.
  • Supabase — stores and serves class schedule data.
  • Firebase — used for app configuration and (for testers) build distribution; we do not use Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics.

Data retention

We retain class schedule data for as long as needed to operate the service. We don't currently operate user accounts in the mobile app, so there's no persistent personal profile to delete on request beyond the on-device data described above, which you can clear at any time by uninstalling the app.

Children's privacy

Edu Meet is intended for use within an educational institution's classes, which may include students under 18. We don't knowingly collect more information from a student than is described above, and camera/microphone access is only ever active during a class the student's institution has scheduled. Parents, guardians, or institutions with questions about a student's use of the app can contact us using the details below.

Changes to this policy

As Edu Meet adds features (such as user accounts), this policy will be updated to reflect what's actually collected, and the "last updated" date above will change accordingly.
